Cameron Beats Sean 128–102 and Nobody Knows What to Do

WEEK IN REVIEW

Let's start with the only story that matters: Cameron H, the man who cares more about his commissioner badge than his lineup, dropped 128.52 points in Week 1 to upset Sean W — a guy who went 22-6 last season and once understood dynasty football so profoundly it was legally considered a personality disorder. Cameron's The Commissioner sits at 4-24 all-time. Sean's Knickerbockers sit at 22-6. And yet. Justin Herbert threw for a bag, Javonte Williams went off for 19.40, Deebo Samuel (a free agent, by the way — a free agent) chipped in 19.10, and Cameron waltzed out of Week 1 with a 25.74-point margin like he'd planned it. He didn't plan it. He never plans it. That's what makes it so much worse.

The rest of Week 1 was a bloodbath with a side of mild chaos. Aaron T's reigning-champion Chang Party — 24-4 all-time, sitting on a dynasty throne made of other people's misery — got taken out by Tyler O's Berkeley Beatniks by just 11.52 points, the closest game of the week. Derrick Henry dropped 28.70 for Aaron. CMC gave him 18.70. Mahomes threw up 26.02 for Tyler. It was a chess match between two of the better managers in the league, and the guy known for the analytical approach edged out the jester king. Meanwhile, at the other end of the scoreboard, Keaton H's Colonel Popcorn mustered 39.10 points — 59% below league average — because Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent now and Keaton started him anyway, and also started a literal question mark slot for zero points. A question mark. For zero points. The fantasy offseason is sacred, Keaton. Maybe spend some of it on a depth chart.

Blake H's MyNameisBlakeHarper posted 40.80 against Casey U's Trout Slyna and lost by 68.42 points — the biggest blowout of the week. Quinn Ewers is apparently on the Miami Dolphins and scored zero points, which tracks. The bench was nearly as bad as the lineup. Week 2 looms with six teams already looking over their shoulders and two teams — Blake and Keaton — who may be conducting science experiments rather than playing fantasy football.

MATCHUP RECAPS

The Commissioner (Cameron H) def. Knickerbockers (Sean W), 128.52–102.78

Cameron H, 4-24 all-time, walked into Week 1 and scored 128.52 — the highest single score in the league this week and 34% above league average. Justin Herbert led the charge at 27.92, and Deebo Samuel, currently a free agent in real life, put up 19.10 like he still has something to prove. Sean countered with a strong Lamar Jackson (29.36) and Saquon Barkley (16.40), but Ja'Marr Chase somehow managed 3.60 points and A.J. Brown sleepwalked to 1.30, which is the kind of thing that happens when the football gods are in a bad mood. The 4-24 manager beat the 22-6 manager by 25.74 points. Sean's Knickerbockers still have the second-most points scored in franchise history (1,896.30 PF), which is the only thing saving him from full humiliation right now. He will be fine. But he should sit with this.

Berkeley Beatniks (Tyler O) def. Chang Party (Aaron T), 121.92–110.40

Tyler O — analytically the best manager in the league, historically haunted by the ghosts of Anthony Richardson and Henry Ruggs — put together a clean 121.92 to unseat the reigning champion by 11.52, the narrowest margin of the week. Mahomes (26.02), Bijan Robinson (21.40), and Chuba Hubbard (16.40) carried the freight. Aaron countered with Derrick Henry's 28.70 and CMC's 18.70, but a 66.80-point bench that never got deployed is the kind of thing that defines a jester's reign. Aaron is 24-4 all-time and still lost to a guy whose claim to fame is almost but not quite getting it right. The most recent champion is now 0-1 and Tyler O is 1-0 and frankly this is exactly how it should feel.

Atlas Novus (Colin C) def. Frat Bennetts (Matt B), 122.30–108.40

Colin C's Atlas Novus came out at 122.30 — 28% above league average — led by James Cook (18.70), Aaron Jones (14.20), and Baker Mayfield (22.58 points, which is a sentence nobody expected to type in 2025). Colin won't trade, claims not to care about winning, is building a dynasty from a bunker, and started Week 1 at 1-0. Matt B — champion once or twice, believer in demons, apparently now also haunted by Mark Andrews's 1.50-point outing — lost despite Emeka Egbuka's 21.60 and Marvin Harrison's 15.60. Matt's Frat Bennetts sit at 13-15 all-time, which is the most neutral record in sports. He's not bad. He's not great. He has 37.40 points on his bench. The demons are managing the lineup.

Trout Slyna (Casey U) def. MyNameisBlakeHarper (Blake H), 109.22–40.80

This was a crime scene. Casey's Trout Slyna put up 109.22 — perfectly adequate, comfortable, the fantasy equivalent of a solid fishing afternoon — and beat Blake H by 68.42 points, the biggest blowout of the week. Puka Nacua (18.10), De'Von Achane (15.00), and Kyler Murray (18.32) did the work. Blake countered with Quinn Ewers (0.00 points, currently listed as a Miami Dolphin, which is almost poetic), Isaiah Davis (1.80), and Luke McCaffrey (0.00). Quentin Johnston's 22.40 was the only reason Blake cracked 40. The bench added 10.58 — the whole bench, combined, 10.58 points. Blake's franchise record is 10-18. Is this tanking? Is this competing? Is this a bit? The feud between Blake and Casey is ongoing. This week it wasn't even a feud. It was a nature documentary.

Suck A Hall's (Riley H) def. Hollywood Moonballers (Stephen C), 104.82–63.90

Riley H is good at fantasy football. He moved to Scotland. He's allegedly doing missionary work. His wife may or may not believe in God anymore. None of that matters, because Josh Allen dropped 38.76 points and Riley walked out of Week 1 at 1-0 with a 40.92-point margin. Stephen C's Hollywood Moonballers scored 63.90 — 33% below league average — which becomes slightly more comprehensible when you see that he started a literal empty roster slot for 0.00 points and Efton Chism for 0.00 more. Michael Penix (23.02) was Stephen's best scorer, which means Stephen's backup QB outscored every skill position player on his roster. Devin Neal had 0.90 points. Devaughn Vele had 1.80. Stephen is 1-27 all-time and played a game that looked exactly like a 1-27 all-time manager's game. Let Riley have this one, okay? He's doing the Lord's work. Allegedly.

Puppy pawty (Cody N) def. Colonel Popcorn (Keaton H), 96.16–39.10

Cody N doesn't always know what he's doing, and he still beat Keaton H by 57.06 points, which tells you everything about the state of Colonel Popcorn's Week 1. Keaton started Jimmy Garoppolo — a free agent — at QB for 0.00 points. He started Keaton Mitchell — also likely unavailable — for 0.00 points. He started a question mark slot for 0.00 points. Tyler Warren (14.90) and Khalil Shakir (9.40) showed up but couldn't save a lineup that left 85.52 points on the bench. 85.52 points. On the bench. Keaton is 2-26 all-time and this game looked like years two through twenty-six compressed into a single Sunday. The fantasy offseason is sacred, Keaton. Spend it differently.

POWER RANKINGS

  1. Berkeley Beatniks (Tyler O, 1-0) — Analytically sound, Mahomes anchoring, and already took down the reigning champ. The ghosts of Richardson and Ruggs feel distant this week.

  2. The Commissioner (Cameron H, 1-0) — 128.52 points, season high, biggest upset of the week. Do not trust this. He has 717.96 points scored all-time. Something is wrong and it's currently going right.

  3. Atlas Novus (Colin C, 1-0) — 122.30 from a roster he won't trade away from. Won't engage. Won't blink. Has 160.22 bench points and still won. Quietly terrifying.

  4. Trout Slyna (Casey U, 1-0) — Solid floor, legitimate skill positions, fishy in all the right ways. Posted 109.22 and didn't even need to try hard. The bench knew not to bother.

  5. Chang Party (Aaron T, 0-1) — 24-4 all-time, 66.80 points on the bench, and lost by 11 to a guy who once thought Anthony Richardson was a thing. The champion stumbles first.

  6. Suck A Hall's (Riley H, 1-0) — Josh Allen is doing missionary work of his own, and it's working. 104.82 points, 1-0. Scotland is proud.

  7. Knickerbockers (Sean W, 0-1) — 1,896.30 career points scored and got beat by a 4-24 commissioner. Still has Lamar, Barkley, CeeDee. This loss is a character study, not a diagnosis.

  8. Frat Bennetts (Matt B, 0-1) — Lost despite two 20+ point scorers. Mark Andrews had 1.50 points. The demons are in the TE room.

  9. Puppy pawty (Cody N, 1-0) — Won without knowing exactly how, which is on-brand. 96.16 points against a team that started three zeroes. Take the win, Cody.

  10. Hollywood Moonballers (Stephen C, 0-1) — 1-27 all-time. Started an empty slot and Efton Chism. 63.90 points. The Maye devotion is real and it is not yet paying rent.

  11. MyNameisBlakeHarper (Blake H, 0-1) — 40.80 points. Quinn Ewers. Luke McCaffrey. 10.58 bench points. Blake kisses dads and starts free agents. One of these is more harmful to his record.

  12. Colonel Popcorn (Keaton H, 0-1) — 39.10 points. Three zeroes. 85.52 bench points. Jimmy Garoppolo. The fantasy offseason is sacred and Keaton treated it like a suggestion.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • 🏆 Marquee Matchup: Chang Party vs. Knickerbockers would be the game of the week in any universe — Aaron T (24-4 all-time) and Sean W (22-6 all-time) are two of the best franchises in this league's 16-season history, and both of them are sitting at 0-1 and 1-1 respectively after Week 1's surprises. If these two face each other, it's a must-watch.

  • 🔥 Streak Watch: Cameron H's The Commissioner is on a W1 streak, which is both statistically unprecedented and deeply suspicious. A 4-24 manager who posts 128.52 in Week 1 is either building something or about to go back to sleep. Watch closely.

  • ⚠️ Must-Win: Blake H (10-18 all-time, 40.80 in Week 1) and Keaton H (2-26 all-time, 39.10 in Week 1) are in separate conversations about whether they are playing fantasy football or performing conceptual art. Both need to find a quarterback who is currently employed.

  • ⚔️ Revenge Game: Sean W is coming for someone. He went 22-6 last season, has the second-highest points scored in franchise history, and just got beaten by a man who is more invested in the commissioner Slack channel than his lineup. The Knickerbockers will be a problem for whoever draws them in Week 2.

  • 📊 League Trend: Six teams scored below the league average of 95.69 this week, and two of them (Blake and Keaton) were nearly 60% below it. The talent gap in Animal House is real and it is widening. Somebody at the bottom is going to have to figure out the waiver wire, or Week 2 will look a lot like Week 1 — which for some of you, is a threat.
