IrishLiquid Ends THUMPSVR's Unbeaten Run; MoGaffar Falls by 2.44

WEEK IN REVIEW

The undefeated collision everyone circled finally delivered, just not the way anyone expected. While MoGaffar and THUMPSVR both entered Week 4 at 3-0, it was a third party that did the real damage — IrishLiquid walked into THUMPSVR's house, posted 162.58 points, and ended the unbeaten streak cold. Zay Flowers erupted for 25.80, Alvin Kamara chipped in 22.80 after IrishLiquid snagged him off waivers, and suddenly "My ball Zach Ertz" is 2-2 and no longer the bench-management cautionary tale of the league. The prediction that IrishLiquid's 161-point bench disaster would either fix itself or calcify into a systemic problem? Fixed. Loudly. Meanwhile, MoGaffar survived the undefeated collision only to get ambushed by JoseLCDiaz in a 137.18–134.74 nail-biter — the closest game of the season — falling by 2.44 points with 31.00 points rotting on the bench. Tyler Shough went out there and gave MoGaffar 15.94 points, which was fine, except DJ Moore posted 2.70 and Parker Washington added 2.00, turning the WR corps into a participation trophy factory.

The bottom of the bracket didn't get any kinder. SirGrinch turned Mattdebator's lineup into a crime scene, 168.60–97.72, with Tetairoa McMillan going nuclear for 45.20 points while Rashee Rice contributed a perfect 0.00 for Mattdebator — zero, nothing, a donut, whatever you want to call it, it's on the scoreboard forever. ColeOrtiz continued its tour of scheduled misery, dropping to 0-4 after runDMC28 torched them 178.82–133.60, the Week 4 high score and a 27% beat on league average. Saquon Barkley posted 2.00 points for ColeOrtiz. Two. Saquon. Barkley. The man who carried an entire NFL franchise for a decade showed up and gave you less than your kicker on a bad week. The stratification is now official: four teams at 3-1, two at 2-2, and two at 0-4 with a combined 1,094.82 points and zero wins between them.

Week 5 shapes up as must-see television. SirGrinch and JoseLCDiaz — the two teams sitting atop the standings with identical 3-1 records — are now on a collision course with playoff seeding on the line. THUMPSVR needs a bounce-back win to avoid the "soft schedule" narrative hardening into fact. And Mattdebator needs to score above 97 points, which, at this point, feels like the floor for legitimate contention and somehow remains aspirational.

MATCHUP RECAPS

Pitts Sniffer (JoseLCDiaz) def. Dirtybird (MoGaffar), 137.18–134.74

The closest game of the 2026 season came down to 2.44 points, and JoseLCDiaz should probably thank Kenneth Walker, who went completely berserk for 30.90 points and single-handedly kept this thing from being an embarrassing loss. Trevor Lawrence contributed a very Trevor Lawrence–ish 13.08, Christian Watson managed 7.70, and the SF defense gave up 5.00 points like it was doing JoseLCDiaz a personal favor. Still, 25.20 points left on the bench on a week you nearly lose by two is the kind of thing that ages badly when you're reviewing playoff scenarios in December. JoseLCDiaz moves to 3-1 — the scheduling-curse-to-contender arc is officially resolved — but this win required a Walker eruption and a MoGaffar meltdown to materialize. MoGaffar, now 3-1 and on a one-game skid, left 31.00 points on the bench while starting DJ Moore (2.70) and Parker Washington (2.00) — a combined 4.70 points from two wide receiver slots that would have won the game twice over if literally anyone competent had replaced them.

Swift Bowers Movement (SirGrinch) def. Hanging with Hernandez (Mattdebator), 168.60–97.72

This wasn't a football game. This was a formal document. SirGrinch posted 168.60 — 15% above league average — led by Tetairoa McMillan's 45.20-point detonation, Brock Bowers adding 20.60, and Chris Olave contributing 19.60 in a lineup that had five players above 15 points. SirGrinch also had 94.90 points on the bench, which means this roster is operating at a level of depth that should be illegal. Mattdebator, meanwhile, watched Rashee Rice post 0.00 points — zero — while the rest of the lineup averaged a haunting 9.77 points per starter. Bijan Robinson tried his hardest with 27.70, Colston Loveland gave you 11.70, and then the rest of the lineup held a eulogy. SirGrinch is now 3-1 with a two-game winning streak and 630.18 total points, firmly atop the standings, while Mattdebator falls to 0-4 with a season-low 97.72 that was 31% below league average. The playoff math isn't ugly anymore. It's a closed casket.

Irsay's Dealer (runDMC28) def. Green Bowl Packers (ColeOrtiz), 178.82–133.60

runDMC28 posted the week's high score and the season high at 178.82 — 27% above league average — erasing every WR inconsistency narrative that had been building since Week 1. Puka Nacua went for 27.70, Malik Nabers delivered 23.20 after weeks of underperformance, Tee Higgins added 26.70, and Brock Purdy was quietly excellent at 19.62. This is what the roster looks like when everyone shows up at once, and ColeOrtiz had the privilege of being in the building when it happened. Saquon Barkley scored 2.00 points. Davante Adams scored 7.20. Dak Prescott, whose name graces the opposing team's banner, was the best player on ColeOrtiz's roster at 18.10 points — which is also deeply funny. ColeOrtiz falls to 0-4 with 551.50 total points, the most points any 0-4 team has ever accumulated while somehow losing every game. runDMC28 climbs to 2-2 on a one-game winning streak — the offense has clearly been there all along, it just needed everyone to agree on the same week.

My ball Zach Ertz (IrishLiquid) def. Unsolicited Dak Pics (THUMPSVR), 162.58–154.12

The biggest upset of the week and the resolution of three weeks of bench-management hand-wringing: IrishLiquid posted 162.58 — 11% above league average — cracked THUMPSVR's unbeaten record, and did it with a lineup that actually fired on most cylinders. Zay Flowers (25.80), Alvin Kamara (22.80 after getting picked up off waivers and immediately vindicating the move), Ashton Jeanty (18.60), and Lamar Jackson (18.88) formed a core that THUMPSVR's lineup simply couldn't answer. THUMPSVR had CeeDee Lamb go ballistic for 41.30 and Javonte Williams add 31.30, but Dalton Kincaid (1.70), David Montgomery (4.30), Ja'Marr Chase (5.70), and Garrett Wilson (5.70) turned the rest of the roster into a support group. THUMPSVR falls to 3-1 on a one-game losing streak — the soft schedule whispers get louder — while IrishLiquid is 2-2 and finally, mercifully, not the league's most spectacular disaster. The bench was 72.10 points deep, which means there's still work to do, but at least this week the starters showed up first.

POWER RANKINGS

  1. Swift Bowers Movement (SirGrinch, 3-1) — Two straight wins, 630.18 total points, and 94.90 bench points this week alone. The floor got higher and the ceiling hasn't moved.

  2. Pitts Sniffer (JoseLCDiaz, 3-1) — Won the nail-biter, resolved the scheduling curse, and Kenneth Walker is capable of ending lives. 25.20 bench points left in a two-point game is the only reason this isn't a perfect week.

  3. Unsolicited Dak Pics (THUMPSVR, 3-1) — CeeDee Lamb (41.30) and Javonte Williams (31.30) aren't the problem. Dalton Kincaid (1.70) and a combined 17.70 from Chase and Wilson is. The cupcake schedule concern is no longer a whisper.

  4. Dirtybird (MoGaffar, 3-1) — Lost the undefeated duel and left 31.00 bench points in a game decided by 2.44. DJ Moore and Parker Washington combined for 4.70 points. Kyren Williams (36.70) is carrying this thing and the WR room knows it.

  5. Irsay's Dealer (runDMC28, 2-2) — Season-high 178.82, Nabers finally woke up, Higgins and Nacua went off simultaneously. Two weeks ago this team looked like a talented fraud. Right now it looks like a freight train with a 2-2 record that doesn't reflect the roster.

  6. My ball Zach Ertz (IrishLiquid, 2-2) — The bench management crisis produced a 162.58 statement win. Kamara off waivers outscored the margin of victory. Still 72.10 points on the bench, but at least the starters are doing their jobs now.

  7. Green Bowl Packers (ColeOrtiz, 0-4) — 551.50 total points and zero wins is a statistical haunting. Saquon Barkley gave you 2.00 points. Nico Collins gave you 30.80 from a flex. The universe is doing this on purpose.

  8. Hanging with Hernandez (Mattdebator, 0-4) — 97.72 points. Rashee Rice scored 0.00. The season low, the four-game losing streak, the 443.32 total points — all of it points in one direction. Bijan Robinson deserves a better situation and knows it.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • ›

🔥 Marquee Matchup — SirGrinch vs. JoseLCDiaz: The two teams atop the standings with identical 3-1 records and 10.16 points separating them in total score collide. SirGrinch's depth (94.90 bench points this week) against JoseLCDiaz's scheduling luck finally running out — one of these teams grabs the first clear separation in the standings.

  • ›

📈 Streak Watch — THUMPSVR (L1): One loss shouldn't define a team, but THUMPSVR's path forward requires proving that the Kincaid (1.70) and combined Chase/Wilson (11.40) disaster was a fluke and not the soft-schedule bill coming due. A bounce-back win silences critics; a second loss opens the floor for serious regression conversation.

  • ›

🚨 Must-Win — ColeOrtiz (0-4): At 0-4 with 551.50 points, ColeOrtiz is already operating in playoff elimination territory. Another loss and this becomes less a cautionary tale and more a confirmed tragedy. Nico Collins (30.80) and Sam LaPorta (22.40) showed up this week — the rest of the roster needs to find them.

  • ›

💥 Revenge Game — MoGaffar vs. field: After two straight close losses and 31.00 bench points rotting in a 2.44-point defeat, MoGaffar enters Week 5 with something to prove. Kyren Williams (36.70) and the RB core are elite — the WR room needs to stop submitting DNPs disguised as point totals.

  • ›

📊 League Trend — Bench Points Are Deciding Games: IrishLiquid added Kamara off waivers and won by 8.46 — Kamara alone scored 22.80. MoGaffar left 31.00 on the bench and lost by 2.44. JoseLCDiaz left 25.20 and nearly lost by the same margin. The gap between winning and losing is increasingly found in the lineup decisions made before Sunday, not during it. Waiver wire activity this week will tell you who's paying attention.
