TK23 ends GRB123's perfect season in a 4-point thriller.

WEEK IN REVIEW

The undefeated era is over. GRB123's SteelCityCholos entered Week 6 at 5-0 with a season-high 204.40 in their back pocket and a legitimate case as the best team in the league. Then TK23 put up 135.46 — nothing flashy, just Christian McCaffrey dropping 29.70, D'Andre Swift quietly going for 23.00, and Emeka Egbuka chipping in 17.80 — and beat them by 4.32 points to snap the streak cold. The prediction that GRB123 couldn't maintain perfection forever landed exactly on schedule. They still sit at 5-1 and first place, but the "are they untouchable" conversation is officially reopened.

The week's other major story was Wingwee beating dawsonballs by 0.16 points — the league's closest game of the season. Dawsonballs named their team "1st place," which aged hilariously given they are now 3-3 and sitting fourth in the standings, having lost both their must-win games in consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, WhiskeyWayne575 posted a catastrophic 65.52 — a new season-low for the entire league — against PhillytheThrill. Tyler Warren started and scored 0.00 (he is currently listed out with a groin injury), Juwan Johnson scored 0.00, and there was a literal empty roster slot that also scored 0.00. Three zeroes in one lineup is not bad luck. That's arson.

Week 7 sets up with four teams at 3-3 in a logjam that will start sorting itself out fast. Dawsonballs desperately needs a win after back-to-back losses dropped them from "scary frontrunner" to "nervous middle-of-the-pack." WhiskeyWayne575 is now on a three-game skid and has left 38.36 points on their bench this week alone. And TK23 — four-game win streak, second in the standings — continues being the quietest legitimate threat in the league.

MATCHUP RECAPS

Team 8 (TK23) def. SteelCityCholos (GRB123), 135.46–131.14

The streak-ender. TK23 got 29.70 from Christian McCaffrey, 23.00 from D'Andre Swift, and a quiet 17.80 from Emeka Egbuka to knock off the last undefeated team by 4.32 points. GRB123 countered with 21.24 from Jordan Love and 20.10 from Jonathan Taylor, but left 26.70 on the bench — enough to flip the outcome. The brutal footnote: TK23 had 44.50 points sitting on their bench and still won, meaning GRB123 got beat by someone's second team. TK23 is now 4-2 on a four-game win streak. The prediction made five weeks running — that nobody is talking about TK23 enough — is no longer a prediction. It's a fact.

Team 7 (Wingwee) def. 1st place (dawsonballs), 132.10–131.94

Zero. Point. Sixteen. Wingwee went out and added Jayden Daniels off waivers this week — he dropped 21.00 points, more than the margin of victory. Without that pickup, this is a dawsonballs win by six points and a completely different newsletter. Instead, Bhayshul Tuten went for 24.70 and Kenneth Walker inexplicably showed up on the wrong team's roster for 27.90, and Wingwee stole one. Dawsonballs now has 961.60 total points — the most in the league by a significant margin — and a 3-3 record. They scored 131.94 and lost. The "most dangerous scorer curse" continues to evolve in real time and dawsonballs' team name remains an outstanding comedy bit.

Team 6 (Asstronaut) def. Team 4 (jules1977), 122.88–88.70

The prediction that Asstronaut's three-game losing streak would end here was correct, and jules1977 was the sacrificial offering. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 25.40, Chuba Hubbard contributed 19.10, and Chase McLaughlin hit 17.00 from the kicker spot, which is not something you want to be outscored by. Jules1977 countered with 88.70 — 33% below the league average — featuring Cam Skattebo at 0.00 and Travis Kelce at 9.30. Kelce was fired two weeks ago in this newsletter. He then scored nine points and collected his severance. The bench had 7.90 points left on it, which is almost insulting given the context. Jules1977 falls to 2-4 on a three-game skid, and "uncomfortable playoff math" has officially become "someone start running the tiebreaker scenarios."

Team 10 (PhillytheThrill) def. Lil Whiskies (WhiskeyWayne575), 121.70–65.52

The revenge game prediction said 160+. PhillytheThrill settled for 121.70, which still won by 56.18, so the spirit of the prophecy was honored. Drake Maye posted 23.80 after being picked up as a free agent in Week 5 — that waiver wire add has now paid for itself twice. On the other side: WhiskeyWayne575 played three players who scored 0.00 — Tyler Warren (listed out), Juwan Johnson, and an empty roster slot that is probably listed as "FA" in someone's contacts. MarShawn Lloyd added 1.00. Brandon Aubrey kicked for 1.00. This is not a football lineup. This is a hostage situation. WhiskeyWayne575 drops to 2-4 on a three-game losing streak, and the 65.52 is now the season-low for the entire league. That record will be harder to shake than the losses.

Green Bowl Packers (ColeOrtiz) def. ShrimpHulk (a2ron1519), 123.20–98.38

ColeOrtiz won again. That's two straight, three total, and a 3-3 record for a team that started 1-3 and had no business being in this conversation. Malik Nabers went for 28.50 — his third massive week — and the Kansas City Chiefs defense chipped in 16.00, which is funnier if you know Patrick Mahomes was on the other team scoring 11.48. A2ron1519 did have 21.84 points on their bench, which won't change anything except the mood in the groupchat. At 1-5, the math for a2ron1519 is not uncomfortable anymore. It is finished. The Puka Nacua ceiling exists. The floor also exists, and the floor is 98.38 against a team that was 1-3 three weeks ago.

POWER RANKINGS

  1. SteelCityCholos (GRB123, 5-1) — Lost the unbeaten record but kept first place. Still the best team in the league. The 204.40 ceiling is real and nobody else is close.

  2. Team 8 (TK23, 4-2) — Four-game win streak, second in standings, 44.50 points left on the bench and still won. This team is running out of excuses to be underrated.

  3. Team 10 (PhillytheThrill, 4-2) — Drake Maye is a legitimate starter. 4-2 with revenge secured. The real question is whether the kicker situation (Nick Folk, 1.00) gets cleaned up before it costs them.

  4. 1st place (dawsonballs, 3-3) — 961.60 total points, third in losses, fourth in standings. The team name is the cruelest joke in the league. They will be fine. Probably. Maybe.

  5. Team 6 (Asstronaut, 3-3) — Losing streak snapped, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a genuine weapon, and the schedule might finally be turning. Three-three is not where they want to be, but it's better than three-four.

  6. Team 7 (Wingwee, 3-3) — Won by 0.16 on the back of a waiver pickup. Jayden Daniels justified the entire roster philosophy. Don't ask about the rest of the roster philosophy.

  7. Green Bowl Packers (ColeOrtiz, 3-3) — Two-game win streak for a team everyone counted out at 1-3. Malik Nabers is the engine. The floor is still Tyler Allgeier at 5.80, but the ceiling is real.

  8. Lil Whiskies (WhiskeyWayne575, 2-4) — Three-game losing streak, season-low 65.52, three zeroes in one lineup, and 38.36 left on the bench. This is not a slump. This is a lifestyle choice.

  9. Team 4 (jules1977, 2-4) — Three-game losing streak, 88.70 this week, Josh Allen doing everything he can while Cam Skattebo sits at zero. At some point the manager has to help.

  10. ShrimpHulk (a2ron1519, 1-5) — Lost to a team that was 1-3 four weeks ago. The Puka Nacua ceiling was fun. The math is not. It was a good run at 1-4.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • ›

🔥 Marquee Matchup: With four teams knotted at 3-3, every game this week is a playoff seeding fight — but keep an eye on any dawsonballs matchup. At 3-3 with 961.60 points and a bruised ego, they are the most dangerous team in the league with something to prove. Whoever draws them should be nervous.

  • ›

📈 Streak Watch: TK23 enters Week 7 on a four-game win streak, averaging well above the league mark with the most balanced roster construction in the league. At what point does everyone stop calling them a surprise and start calling them a frontrunner?

  • ›

🚨 Must-Win: WhiskeyWayne575 is 2-4 on a three-game losing streak with 65.52 hanging over their heads like a neon sign. Another loss makes their playoff path genuinely theoretical. They have the talent — James Cook, CeeDee Lamb-adjacent pieces — but the lineup construction has to change before the season doesn't.

  • ›

⚔️ Revenge Game: GRB123 just took their first loss of the season by 4.32 points and has 26.70 bench points to stew over. Whoever faces SteelCityCholos next week is walking into a team with a clean record taken from them and a 204.40 ceiling they haven't forgotten about.

  • ›

📊 League Trend: The waiver wire is now the most important position in this league. Jayden Daniels won a game by 0.16 points. Drake Maye is a top-five scorer this week. The difference between 3-3 and 2-4 might literally be who hits add/drop faster on Sunday morning.
