Andy's Wentz Obsession Finally Pays Off at 158 Points
WEEK IN REVIEW
Let's get the elephant out of the room first: Andy — a lawyer — has spent years "dibsing" Carson Wentz in this draft like it was some kind of legal precedent he could cite in court. The man had a system. The man had conviction. The man also had, historically, a fantasy team that looked like Wentz's injury history. But this week, "I Came, She Wentz" dropped 158.02 points — good for the week's high score — behind Josh Allen's 40.82-point nuclear meltdown and CeeDee Lamb going off for 35.30. Andy sits at 1-1 with a league-leading 298.38 total points, which means he's been the best team in the league through two weeks and has one loss to show for it. That's fantasy football, baby. Suffer with style.
Meanwhile, the two undefeated teams are looking very different on paper. Scudder (Team Scudder, 2-0) survived Week 2 with just 111.74 points — his season low — and needed the Patriots D/ST to go nuclear for 20 points just to cover the spread against Steven's corpse of a lineup (82.08 points, 32% below league average). This is the same Scudder who tried to sell everyone Bitcoin in 2010 and got laughed out of the room. He's still ahead of the curve, still 2-0, and still making it look uglier than it needs to be. On the other end, Dan (Nick's Chubby, 2-0) keeps cashing tickets — Jaxon Smith-Njigba went for a filthy 42.50 points and Matt Stafford chipped in 26.98 to dispatch Jack's Sloppybite squad, 140.48–127.88. The man who literally put this league together, who is jokingly called "San" because he can't type his own name correctly, is undefeated. Don't let him enjoy it too much.
Heading into Week 3, the 0-2 teams — Ben (Pukanda Forever) and Sully (Jenna Tilwortz) — are running out of runway fast. Ben somehow put Puka Nacua in his starting lineup for 0.00 points this week, which is an aggressive choice for a man who named his team after the guy. Sully, fresh off a 52.40-point disaster in Week 1 (57% below league average), actually put up 141.46 in Week 2 — and still lost. Both guys need wins desperately. Week 3 cannot come fast enough.
MATCHUP RECAPS
I Came, She Wentz (Andy) def. Jenna Tilwortz (Sully), 158.02–141.46
Sully, the league newcomer who also coaches college lacrosse, put up a genuinely respectable 141.46 points this week — Ja'Marr Chase (26.50), Jaylen Waddle (21.80), and Dak Prescott (29.76) all showed up. That's a 141-point effort and he still lost by 16.56. That's not a Sully problem, that's an Andy problem — specifically the problem of Andy being an absolute menace right now. Josh Allen alone (40.82) nearly outscored Sully's entire backfield. Andy is 1-1 with 298.38 total points and the most explosive roster in the league, which means his Week 1 loss to Scudder already looks like a scheduling crime. If Sully doesn't get a win in Week 3, the 0-2 hole becomes a grave.
YoungHoe Kool (Tucker) def. Unsolicited Dak Pics (Joe), 134.10–94.36
Tucker — Fort Collins oil man, professional chaos agent, guy who has absolutely thrown a dart at a board to make fantasy decisions — just dropped 134.10 points and throttled Joe by 39.74 points. Joe came in with a 1-0 record feeling himself, and walked out of Week 2 having been outscored by Dalton Kincaid (22.50) and Harrison Butker's leg (16.00). Meanwhile, Nico Collins went for 0.00 points and Brock Bowers contributed a perfect 0.00 — two zeros from two starters is a lineup decision that will haunt Joe's dreams. He had 34.80 points sitting on his bench. Joe is now 1-1 and on a losing streak, facing the brutal math of having spotted Tucker nearly 40 points in a game he needed.
Nick's Chubby (Dan) def. Sloppybite (Jack), 140.48–127.88
Dan — the guy who put this whole league together, who goes by "San" because of a typo, who is a diehard Jaguars fan and probably the most delusional optimist in the group — is 2-0 and looking legitimate. Jaxon Smith-Njigba erupted for 42.50 points, which is the kind of score that makes the rest of your lineup irrelevant. Jack's Sloppybite isn't rolling over though — Amon-Ra St. Brown (35.20) and Patrick Mahomes (28.98) kept it close, and a 12.60-point margin means this one was competitive the whole way. Jack is 1-1 with 50.70 points left on his bench, which means his lineup management is the story — he's leaving points on the field every week. Dan meanwhile is quietly one of the most dangerous 2-0 teams because he doesn't need to be perfect, he just needs Jaxon to keep cooking.
Team Scudder (Scudder) def. Shelly Duuuuuuuuval (Steven), 111.74–82.08
This was ugly. Steven — who literally works in NFL TV production and should know better — put up 82.08 points with Colston Loveland checking in for 1.30 points and Jeremiyah Love going for a staggering 7.50. His bench had 72.78 points sitting on it. Read that again. Seventy-two-point-seven-eight points. On the bench. The man works in professional football. Scudder, meanwhile, barely needed to show up — 111.74 points, his season low, propped up almost entirely by Trey McBride (18.10) and a shocking Patriots D/ST (20.00). Scudder is 2-0 because the Bitcoin guy plays the long game. Steven is 1-1, on a losing streak, and needs to figure out who's actually on his roster before Week 3.
Schrack Daddy (James) def. Pukanda Forever (Ben), 124.72–111.92
James — lifelong Broncos superfan, Fort Collins resident, career friend of basically everyone in this league — got the win behind Davante Adams going thermonuclear for 39.50 points. Saquon Barkley, meanwhile, contributed 3.00 points, which is the kind of contribution you'd expect from a participation trophy. James had 41.78 points on his bench, so the win came with some unnecessary drama. Ben (Pukanda Forever, get it?) started Puka Nacua for 0.00 points — the man NAMED HIS TEAM after Puka and then watched him score nothing. He also started Drake Maye for 8.02 with 31.90 points left on his bench. Ben is 0-2 and the Eagles fan living in Philly is going to need to start making better lineup calls or this season becomes a creative writing exercise in explaining how it all went wrong.
POWER RANKINGS
-
I Came, She Wentz (Andy, 1-1) — 298.38 total points and the week's high score. The record lies. Andy is the most dangerous team in this league right now.
-
Team Scudder (Scudder, 2-0) — Bitcoin guy is 2-0 and doesn't care that 111 points barely qualifies as trying. Still undefeated, still ahead of the curve.
-
Nick's Chubby (Dan, 2-0) — Undefeated, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a cheat code, and Dan is insufferably happy about all of it. Good for him. Mostly.
-
Sloppybite (Jack, 1-1) — Has the firepower with Mahomes and Amon-Ra. Bench management is costing him. Tighten up or the record gets worse.
-
YoungHoe Kool (Tucker, 1-1) — Won by 39 points this week and has 71.84 sitting on his bench. Terrifying when locked in. Unpredictable always.
-
Schrack Daddy (James, 1-1) — Davante Adams carried this week. Saquon giving 3 points is a problem that doesn't go away by ignoring it, James.
-
Unsolicited Dak Pics (Joe, 1-1) — Two zeros from two starters. Two. Joe has the talent but the lineup decisions are giving him gray hair.
-
Shelly Duuuuuuuuval (Steven, 1-1) — Works in NFL production. Left 72.78 on the bench. No further questions, Your Honor.
-
Pukanda Forever (Ben, 0-2) — Started Puka for zero points on a team named after Puka. The elementary schoolers are watching, Ben.
-
Jenna Tilwortz (Sully, 0-2) — Put up 141 points and lost. Welcome to the league, Sully. It gets worse before it gets better.
LOOKING AHEAD
- ›
🔥 Marquee Matchup: Andy (I Came, She Wentz) vs. anyone at this point is a marquee matchup — 298 total points, Josh Allen at QB, and a legitimate chip on his shoulder from that Week 1 loss. Whoever draws him needs to score 160+.
- ›
📈 Streak Watch: Dan (Nick's Chubby) and Scudder (Team Scudder) are both 2-0. One of them is likely to face each other or a tough draw soon. The undefeated streak won't last forever — the question is who blinks first.
- ›
🚨 Must-Win: Ben (Pukanda Forever) and Sully (Jenna Tilwortz) are both 0-2. Another loss for either one and the season becomes a math problem with a bad answer. One of them needs to fix their lineup — and Ben needs to decide if Puka Nacua is actually on his team or just a mascot.
- ›
⚔️ Revenge Game: Joe (Unsolicited Dak Pics) got torched by Tucker for 39.74 points and has Nico Collins and Brock Bowers sitting at 0.00 on his conscience. He'll be out for blood in Week 3 — assuming he starts players who actually play.
- ›
📊 League Trend: Benches are LOADED. Steven left 72.78 on the bench, Tucker left 71.84, and Andy left 67.80 — three of the week's five matchups featured managers with 40+ bench points. Lineup decisions are already separating the contenders from the pretenders, and it's only Week 2.
