Emma drops 165 on sister Zoe in a family bloodbath.
WEEK IN REVIEW
Week 2 of the 2025 season delivered the kind of chaos that makes Stacy Pocian grateful she built this league in the first place. Emma Karnitz put up a jaw-dropping 165.26 points — 40% above the league average of 124.26 — and still nearly lost. Sister Zoe answered with 161.13 of her own, good for 36% above average, and it wasn't enough. A 4.13-point margin separated them in what was essentially two nuclear warheads aimed at each other across the dinner table. Jared Goff (37.96) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (34.70) did the heavy lifting for Emma, while Malik Nabers (36.20) and James Cook (28.00) kept Zoe in it until the final whistle. Emma stays undefeated. Zoe falls to 0-2 despite averaging 133.75 points per game — the most cursed number in fantasy football.
The supporting storylines were just as unhinged. Aaron Karnitz, beer in hand and probably half-watching the Packers, pulled off the week's certified upset by beating his wife Kari 119.80–113.52 — a result that will absolutely come up at the next family dinner. Tom Fuller survived an ugly 111.94-point performance to beat sister-in-law Andrea 10.10 points, which keeps him perched atop the overall standings at 10-4. Meanwhile, Alan Karnitz continued his quiet assassin routine, slipping past Stacy Pocian by just 3.79 points in yet another nail-biter — his second straight win decided by fewer than 4 points. The man doesn't blow anyone out; he just finds a way.
Week 3 looms with the standings tightening in the middle tier and Zoe Karnitz desperately needing a win before her season becomes a math problem with no good solutions. The 0-2 crew of spocian and MrBTA are running out of runway. Meanwhile, Emma Karnitz is on a collision course with the league's best, and someone's going to have to actually stop her.
MATCHUP RECAPS
EmmaKarnitz (Emma Karnitz) def. Zoekarni (Zoe Karnitz), 165.26–161.13
Two sisters combined for 326.39 points in a matchup that should've had a pay-per-view price tag. Emma's 165.26 set the season high for the entire league, powered by Jared Goff's absurd 37.96 and Amon-Ra St. Brown's 34.70 — the Detroit stack doing its thing with maximum violence. Zoe's Malik Nabers (36.20) and James Cook (28.00) gave her every reason to believe, but a 4.13-point margin is the cruelest kind of loss. Emma sits 2-0 at an average of 139.68 per game and is firmly the most dangerous team in this league right now. Zoe, meanwhile, is 0-2 despite being the second-highest scoring team on the season at 133.75 average — the schedule has been the villain here, not the roster.
akarnitz (Alan Karnitz) def. spocian (Stacy Pocian), 127.33–123.54
Alan Karnitz has now won two games in a row by a combined 7.34 points. That's not domination — that's a man who lives on the knife's edge and somehow never cuts himself. De'Von Achane (22.20) and Jonathan Taylor (28.50, for Stacy) were the week's workhorses, but it was Alan's depth that squeaked it out. Stacy's 69.50 points left on the bench is the kind of stat that keeps a fantasy manager up at night — she has the pieces, she just needs to find the right puzzle configuration. Alan moves to 2-0 and climbs to second in the overall standings at 9-5. Stacy drops to 5-9 and her playoff window is narrowing to a mail slot.
DoubleAron72 (Aaron Karnitz) def. KKThroatpunch69 (Kari Karnitz), 119.80–113.52
The biggest upset of the week, and the one that's going to cost Aaron on the home front. Aaron's 119.80 was actually his season low, coming in below his 126.28 average — Marvin Harrison Jr. (3.70) was an anchor, and the PHI DST (8.50) wasn't winning any awards either. But Kari's Josh Allen posted just 11.82 points, and when your QB1 is that cold, no amount of Ja'Marr Chase (29.50) or Tucker Kraft (21.40) heroics can fully bail you out. Aaron moves to 7-7 overall, Kari drops to 8-6 — she entered this week holding a playoff spot, and she still does, but losing to your husband stings regardless of the standings. Aaron's now got bragging rights for exactly as long as it takes to get back to the dinner table.
TrystanKrueger (Trystan Krueger) def. MrBTA (Unknown), 115.50–102.75
Trystan, Emma's boyfriend and the man who rode her coattails into this league, is officially making his own case for respectability. A 115.50 — just above league average — was enough to handle MrBTA, who turned in a 102.75 that was 17.3% below this week's average. Lamar Jackson posted 27.30 for MrBTA, which sounds great until you see that Omarion Hampton (3.00) and Ollie Gordon (1.80) essentially played like practice squad fillers. The mystery manager left 60.10 points on his bench — second-most in the league this week — which is the kind of lineup management that earns you a featured spot in a newsletter like this. Trystan climbs to 8-6 and holds a playoff position. MrBTA falls to 5-9 and the decisions aren't getting easier.
Teezintaz (Tom Fuller) def. Nitz50 (Andrea Fuller), 111.94–101.84
Tom Fuller, who would rather be on a golf course with a margarita, beat the accountant with the meticulous detail orientation. The irony is thick. Andrea's 101.84 was the week's lowest score, dragged down by Joe Burrow's dismal 7.04 points and Courtland Sutton's nearly invisible 1.10. Javonte Williams (22.00) and Bijan Robinson (18.30) kept it from being a complete disaster, but Burrow's performance was the story — when your QB throws up a 7.04, you're not winning many weeks. Tom's Bo Nix (22.24) and Davante Adams (19.60) did just enough against a weak opponent, and the electrician-by-trade stays at 10-4 and in first place overall. Andrea falls to 7-7 and needs to address the QB room before this becomes a structural problem.
POWER RANKINGS
-
EmmaKarnitz (Emma Karnitz, 2-0 this season | 8-6 overall) — 165-point weeks and a Goff/ARSB stack humming at full volume. She's the most explosive team in the building right now.
-
akarnitz (Alan Karnitz, 2-0 this season | 9-5 overall) — Wins games by less than 4 points and somehow keeps sleeping fine. The quiet closer with a deep backfield.
-
DoubleAron72 (Aaron Karnitz, 2-0 this season | 7-7 overall) — CMC, Jayden Daniels, and two weeks of wins. Peaked right when it matters most. The grill-master is cooking.
-
Teezintaz (Tom Fuller, 1-1 this season | 10-4 overall) — Leads the league in overall record and points despite being nowhere near the flashiest roster. Somehow always in the right matchup.
-
TrystanKrueger (Trystan Krueger, 1-1 this season | 8-6 overall) — The accountant's boyfriend is balancing his own books just fine. CeeDee Lamb needs to wake up, but the floor is respectable.
-
KKThroatpunch69 (Kari Karnitz, 1-1 this season | 8-6 overall) — Ja'Marr Chase and Tucker Kraft are legitimate weapons. Josh Allen going cold is the only thing that sank her. One big QB week fixes everything.
-
Nitz50 (Andrea Fuller, 1-1 this season | 7-7 overall) — The detail-oriented accountant is missing the detail that matters most: a functional QB. Burrow's 7.04 is not a number you audit your way out of.
-
Zoekarni (Zoe Karnitz, 0-2 this season | 3-11 overall) — Averaging 133.75 points and sitting 0-2. The schedule is committing crimes against this roster. Nabers, Cook, and Mahomes deserve better.
-
spocian (Stacy Pocian, 0-2 this season | 5-9 overall) — She built the league, she set the table, and someone keeps eating her lunch. Sixty-nine points on the bench is the problem, not the talent.
-
MrBTA (Unknown, 0-2 this season | 5-9 overall) — Sixty points on the bench, Lamar Jackson wasted, and a 102.75 performance in a week where the average was 124.26. The playbook is still confusing everyone, including the results.
LOOKING AHEAD
- ›
🏆 Marquee Matchup: Keep an eye on any showdown involving Emma Karnitz — at 2-0 with a 139.68 average, whoever draws her is walking into a buzzsaw. The Goff-ARSB Detroit stack shows no signs of cooling off.
- ›
🔥 Streak Watch: Emma Karnitz (W2) and Alan Karnitz (W2) are both undefeated this season and on a collision course with the middle of the standings. One of them is going to have to blink eventually — just not yet.
- ›
⚠️ Must-Win: Zoe Karnitz (0-2, 3-11 overall) cannot afford a third consecutive loss. She's scoring 133+ points per game and has nothing to show for it. The math doesn't get kinder from here.
- ›
💥 Revenge Game: Kari Karnitz (KKThroatpunch69) got beaten by her own husband this week. Josh Allen sitting at 11.82 points has to be treated as an aberration, not a trend. Expect her to come out swinging — and expect Aaron to be sleeping with one eye open.
- ›
📉 League Trend: Bench points are becoming a crisis. Stacy left 69.50 on the bench, Teezintaz left 77.20, and DoubleAron72 left 72.08. Three managers each had more points sitting than the week's lowest scorer actually put up. Lineup decisions are separating the contenders from the bracket bubble — and right now, they're doing more damage than the opponents are.
