Matt goes 5-0 while Cody scores 159 and still loses.

WEEK IN REVIEW

Five weeks in, one fact remains immovable: Matt is 5-0, averaging 166.74 points per game, and just dropped 176.64 on Darius like it was a warmup. Jaylen Warren put up 36.80, Christian Watson added 32.30, and Trey McBride chipped in 21.60 — and the kicker is Matt only left 16.14 points on his bench while doing it. That's not luck. That's roster construction meeting lineup discipline, and it's the most dangerous combination in a $500 league. The prediction from last week was that Matt's average would probably be too much for Jeremy if they ever collided — they didn't get that matchup yet, but Matt just scored the week's highest total anyway, because of course he did.

Meanwhile, the rest of the league spent Week 5 cooking up a beautiful disaster platter. Hannah — who was 0-4 and being written off as a charity case — beat Andrew 113.16-101.40 to keep her season technically breathing. Andrew started DJ Moore and Roman Wilson, both of whom are currently listed out, and they combined for exactly zero points. Zero. He lost by 11.76. Those two empty roster spots didn't just cost him the game — they dropped him to 2-3 with a 141.47 PPG average, meaning Andrew is statistically one of the best managers in this league and has the record of someone who forgot to set their lineup twice. Cody, not to be outdone, scored a season-high 159.10 points — Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Bucky Irving all showing up — and still lost to Nick by 7.02. That's five losses. Five. With a roster that averages 133.93 per game. The universe has specifically chosen Cody, and it is not done choosing him.

The week's quietest chaos came from Misty beating Shannon 121.12-104.02 in a game where Misty left only 3.70 points on her bench — proving that when she locks in the right starters, she can beat anybody. Shannon, on the other hand, watched the Raiders defense score 0.00 points and David Montgomery contribute 1.10, and that's the fragility problem in one sentence. Week 6 looms with multiple must-win scenarios converging: Andrew and Cody cannot afford another loss, Jeremy and Matt are on a collision course that the whole league has been waiting for, and Megan desperately needs to prove that Jeremy's 173.92 demolition was a blip, not a verdict.

MATCHUP RECAPS

Rock Out W Your Brock Out (Hannah) def. Team 1 (Andrew), 113.16–101.40

Andrew dropped 24% below the league average this week, and the core of the damage was structural — DJ Moore is currently listed out, Roman Wilson is currently listed out, and both of them started and scored nothing. Subtract those two zeroes and the lineup math collapses entirely. Hannah, meanwhile, picked up Braelon Allen off waivers in Week 5, started him, and he put up 18.60 points — more than the 11.76-point margin of victory. That's the waiver wire paying rent in real time. D'Andre Swift (17.30) and Emeka Egbuka (17.20) filled out a lineup that didn't need to be spectacular, just functional, and functional beat broken. Andrew falls to 2-3 with 707.36 total points — the sixth-highest in the league — and the playoff math is no longer uncomfortable, it's urgent. Hannah climbs to 1-4 and has now won back-to-back weeks against the standings. She's not dead. She's annoying, which is worse.

Team 2 (Nick) def. Knuck if you BUCKY boy (Cody), 166.12–159.10

Cody scored 159.10 points this week. That's his season high. That's also his fifth consecutive loss. Let that sit. Bucky Irving went for 31.50, Sam LaPorta dropped 19.80, Justin Jefferson added 18.80, and Joe Burrow threw for 24.60 — and none of it was enough because Nick sent Puka Nacua out for 37.70 points and Brock Bowers for 23.00 and Garrett Wilson for 23.40, and that trio alone nearly matched Cody's entire starting lineup. Nick won 166.12-159.10 on a 7.02-point margin, his second consecutive win, and his scoring ceiling is no longer a question — it's a threat. Nick moves to 3-2 averaging 134.70 per game and now has back-to-back weeks over 150 points. Cody is 0-5 with a roster good enough to be 3-2 and the schedule apparently has him personally blocked. The prediction last week about Nick's Puka/Bowers pairing creating a legitimate top-three ceiling scenario? Confirmed, with receipts.

Team 3 (Matt) def. Team 10 (Darius), 176.64–152.56

Darius had Drake Maye go off for 39.46 points and Malik Nabers add 29.10, and he still lost by 24.08. That's the Matt problem. You can have a great week and still lose to Matt because Matt is running a different program than everyone else. Jaylen Warren (36.80), Christian Watson (32.30), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (22.80), and Trey McBride (21.60) — Matt's lineup had four players over 21 points and left only 16.14 on his bench. The real story on Darius's side is the bench: 51.48 points left unplayed, a trend that keeps resurfacing in his losses. His roster has legitimate weapons but lineup decisions keep neutralizing them. Matt goes to 5-0 with 833.72 total points and a 166.74 PPG average — he has not lost a game, he has not scored below 151, and the last time anyone asked whether he was a real contender was about three weeks ago before everyone stopped asking.

Team 6 (Misty) def. Team 8 (Shannon), 121.12–104.02

Shannon's scoring range has been called a ceiling problem for two weeks now, and Week 5 delivered the exhibit. The Raiders defense scored 0.00. David Montgomery scored 1.10. George Pickens (28.00) and Tyler Warren (21.40) were legitimate — but when two starting roster spots contribute a combined 1.10, you're not losing because of bad luck, you're losing because the floor dropped out. Shannon also left 31.40 on her bench, which means the points were there, just not in the right slots. Misty, on the other hand, played this one almost perfectly — Davante Adams (22.10), Aaron Jones (18.70), Drake London (18.80), JK Dobbins (15.40) all delivered, and her 3.70 bench total means she squeezed nearly everything out of her roster. Misty moves to 2-3, Shannon drops to 3-2 on a one-game skid, and the question about Shannon's band between 104 and 136 being a vulnerability is no longer theoretical — this week it was the scoreboard.

Amon A Boat (Jeremy) def. Kelce Me Outside (Megan), 173.92–144.36

Jeremy said he was bouncing back after his first loss last week, and he did it with 173.92 points and zero mercy. Isaiah Likely — the waiver pickup that cost Jeremy nothing — went for 32.40. Parker Washington added 30.40. Derrick Henry contributed 21.00 and James Cook 22.80. Kirk Cousins only threw for 13.72 points but it didn't matter because everyone else showed up. Megan had real producers — Jayden Daniels (32.26), Mike Evans (26.30), Jameson Williams (18.70) — but CeeDee Lamb put up 2.90 points for the second time this season in a game Megan needed to win, and that's now a pattern, not a coincidence. Megan falls to 3-2, loses her two-game win streak, and the CeeDee Lamb inconsistency crisis that's been flagged for three weeks is now a genuine roster management question. She's third in total points at 760.26 with a season high of 177.46 — the floor is real, but so is the ceiling problem when Lamb disappears.

POWER RANKINGS

  1. Team 3 (Matt, 5-0) — Perfect record, league-best 166.74 PPG, and only 16.14 bench points wasted. He is not slowing down.

  2. Amon A Boat (Jeremy, 4-1) — 173.92 in a bounce-back demolition proves the first loss was noise. Waiver wire is running his operation now.

  3. Kelce Me Outside (Megan, 3-2) — Third in total points at 760.26 with the season's highest single score. CeeDee Lamb is the only thing standing between her and a top-two ranking.

  4. Team 2 (Nick, 3-2) — Two consecutive 150+ weeks with Puka Nacua and Brock Bowers making the ceiling legitimate. The Chiefs fan is ascending.

  5. Team 8 (Shannon, 3-2) — Three wins but the floor just fell to 104.02 and 31.40 bench points went unused. The band is narrowing in the wrong direction.

  6. Team 1 (Andrew, 2-3) — 707.36 total points and 141.47 PPG makes this the most frustrating résumé in the league. Every week that passes is a playoff spot disappearing.

  7. Knuck if you BUCKY boy (Cody, 0-5) — Scored a season-high 159.10 and lost. There is nothing left to say except the Chiefs fan deserves better from his schedule.

  8. Team 10 (Darius, 2-3) — Drake Maye (39.46) and Malik Nabers (29.10) in a loss with 51.48 bench points wasted. The roster is not the problem.

  9. Team 6 (Misty, 2-3) — Only 3.70 bench points left unplayed this week. When Misty locks in the right starters, she beats people. The inconsistency is becoming selective competence.

  10. Rock Out W Your Brock Out (Hannah, 1-4) — Won two in a row against the standings, turned the waiver wire into a lifeline, and is now significantly more dangerous than her record suggests.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • ›

🏆 Marquee Matchup — Matt vs. Jeremy: The summit meeting the league has been building toward. Matt (5-0, 166.74 PPG) vs. Jeremy (4-1, 145.02 PPG) is the single most important game of the season so far. Jeremy's 173.92 this week proved he can hit that number — the question is whether he can hit it twice in a row against the one manager in this league who has never had a bad week.

  • ›

🔥 Streak Watch — Nick at Three Consecutive: Nick's back-to-back wins have him on a real trajectory, and a third straight would cement the top-three narrative that's been building. Watch whether the Puka Nacua and Brock Bowers pairing holds — if it does, Nick's Week 6 ceiling could push toward 170.

  • ›

🚨 Must-Win — Andrew and Cody at 2-3 and 0-5: Andrew drops to 2-4 and the playoff math becomes a eulogy at that point — 707.36 points and a 141.47 average do not survive a third consecutive loss mathematically or emotionally. Cody at 0-6 would be the official point of no return for a roster that has averaged 133.93 per game all season.

  • ›

💀 Revenge Game — Megan Needs to Prove Jeremy Was an Anomaly: Three weeks of CeeDee Lamb inconsistency, a 29.56-point blowout loss, and a two-game win streak snapped — Megan's Week 6 opponent has been warned by the standings that her season-high is 177.46. She is due, and due hard.

  • ›

📊 League Trend — Bench Management Is Now the Separator: Matt (16.14 bench points wasted, 5-0). Misty (3.70 bench points wasted, win). Darius (51.48 wasted, loss). Andrew (45.34 wasted, loss). Shannon (31.40 wasted, loss). This is no longer a coincidence — it is the dividing line between contenders and the field, and it has held for five consecutive weeks.
