Corah Drops 196.84 and Humanitarian Aid on James

WEEK IN REVIEW

Let's get the obvious out of the way first: Corah is running this league like she has a cheat code, and everyone else is just NPCs. She dropped 196.84 points in Week 3 — 50% above the league average, a new season high, and enough to beat James by 89.10 points in the biggest blowout of the season. Jaxon Smith-Njigba put up 35.36 points and you just know Corah made Mark sit through a twenty-minute Ohio State highlight reel afterward. Bijan Robinson added 35.30. Brock Purdy chipped in 31.28. Even her kicker showed up. This wasn't a fantasy football win — it was a deposition. The only blemish? She left 88.30 points rotting on her bench, which means somewhere out there exists a version of Corah that scores 285. God help us all.

Meanwhile, Mark survived a sneaky close call, edging Lauren 155.24–144.50 — a matchup that had no business being that close given that Mark's RB1, Jahmyr Gibbs, put up a casual 41.40 points while De'Von Achane sleepwalked to 1.70. Achane's fantasy managers collectively aged five years watching that line. Lauren, despite being on a two-game losing streak, actually looked competitive for the first time since Week 1 when she scored 148.16 and then immediately cratered to 73.02 the next week — a range so wide it suggests Lauren's lineup decisions are made by a Magic 8-Ball. Over in the battle of mediocrity, Gavin squeaked past Emma 104.34–84.36 in a game so low-scoring it practically begged for a mercy rule. Nico Collins scored exactly zero points, and Josh Allen — Emma's first-overall pick — put up 17.46 while sitting on her bench for the first two weeks of the season. He's finally playing, and somehow that's the bad news.

With the standings locked in at 3-0, 2-1, 2-1, 1-2, 1-2, and 0-3, the gap between Corah and everyone else is growing at an alarming rate. James hasn't won a single game, his girlfriend Lauren is on a two-game skid, and his brother Mark is breathing down Corah's neck in the standings while also sharing a couch with her. Week 4 cannot come soon enough — someone in this league needs to finally hand Corah a loss, or the rest of the season is just going to be a documentary about her.

MATCHUP RECAPS

Corah-ner Back (Corah) def. James's Scary Team (JamesLoveland), 196.84–107.74

The name is "James's Scary Team." The score was 107.74. We need to have a serious conversation about truth in advertising. Corah came in averaging 183.85 per game and somehow exceeded that, posting a season-high 196.84 — 50% above the Week 3 league average of 132.17 — while James managed 107.74, which was 19% below it. James did have Ja'Marr Chase (24.80) and Lamar Jackson (20.44), but David Montgomery sleepwalked to 6.80, Xavier Worthy clocked in at 4.00, and the Eagles D/ST went negative at -1.00 — because why not, James, just kick yourself while you're down. He also left 85.62 points on his bench, which at this point is becoming a recurring character in his season. Corah is now 3-0 with a three-game winning streak, and James is 0-3, dating a girl (Lauren) who is also losing — a Loveland household that is decidedly not loving life right now. At 0-3, James is already staring down the mathematical reality that this league has six teams and he has beaten zero of them.

Mark's Magnificent Team (Mark) def. Lauren's Loud Team (ESPNFAN8090349061), 155.24–144.50

Mark wins, but let's not pretend he earned a standing ovation here. Jahmyr Gibbs went 41.40 — genuinely heroic — while De'Von Achane put up 1.70 points, which is fewer points than a field goal and more embarrassing than one. Drake London (28.40) and George Kittle (26.20) did the heavy lifting, and the 49ers D/ST contributed a poetic 0.00 points to round things out. Mark squeaked through 155.24–144.50 — a margin of just 10.74 points — against a Lauren team that had no business being that close given her 73.02-point disaster in Week 2. Lauren got Brock Bowers (27.60), Christian Watson (22.60), and Kyren Williams (21.80) all showing up in the same week, which is exactly the kind of performance that makes you think she's figured it out right before she absolutely hasn't. Mark's now 2-1 and on a one-game win streak, which is fine, but his girlfriend is 3-0 and he is very much playing for second place in both the league and his household.

Gavin's Great Team (ESPNFAN2163087941) def. emma's Excellent Team (ESPNFAN2691824354), 104.34–84.36

This game was the fantasy football equivalent of two people arguing over the last parking spot at a DMV. Gavin wins 104.34–84.36, and the victory lap he's entitled to is exactly zero feet long. Gavin was 21% below the league average this week, and he still won, which tells you everything you need to know about Emma's situation. Nico Collins scored 0.00 points — zero, null, void, the fantasy equivalent of starting a placeholder — and Christian McCaffrey (21.60) and Tee Higgins (21.00) couldn't drag Gavin past respectable on their own. Emma, meanwhile, had Josh Allen finally in her starting lineup after benching her first-overall pick for two straight weeks, and he rewarded her with 17.46 points while Justin Jefferson — the man, the myth — contributed 5.20. Emma also left 79.92 points on the bench, which is almost as many points as she scored. She is 1-2, on a one-game losing streak, and the only thing standing between her and James's basement is the fact that she has one more win than he does.

POWER RANKINGS

  1. Corah-ner Back (Corah, 3-0) — Undefeated, highest average, season-high scorer. This team isn't in a hot streak; it's in a different dimension.

  2. Mark's Magnificent Team (Mark, 2-1) — Gibbs going off at 41.40 is great. De'Von Achane going 1.70 is a medical concern. The ceiling is real; the floor is terrifying.

  3. Gavin's Great Team (ESPNFAN2163087941, 2-1) — Two wins but averaging just 121.83, and this week he was 21% below average and still won. The schedule has been kind. Nico Collins has not been.

  4. Lauren's Loud Team (ESPNFAN8090349061, 1-2) — The range on this team (73.02 to 148.16) is giving emotional damage. Bowers, Watson, and Williams looked great — but two losses and a Week 2 crater keep her here.

  5. emma's Excellent Team (ESPNFAN2691824354, 1-2) — Benching Josh Allen first overall for two weeks should be a punishable offense. He played. She still lost. The season is not Excellent yet.

  6. James's Scary Team (JamesLoveland, 0-3) — Zero wins. Negative D/ST points. 85 points on the bench. "Scary" is one word for it. "Haunted" is another.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • ›

🔥 Marquee Matchup: Mark vs. Corah is the only interpersonal drama this league has — couples and siblings — but if they don't face each other in Week 4, watch for Mark vs. Gavin as the 2-1 teams jockey for position behind the Corah juggernaut.

  • ›

📈 Streak Watch: Corah is on a three-game winning streak and averaging 183.85 points per game. Someone needs to stop her. No one has the roster to stop her.

  • ›

⚠️ Must-Win: James is 0-3 and officially in crisis mode. Another loss starts making his team name ironic in a sad, not funny way — and yes, we will absolutely make fun of him for it either way.

  • ›

😤 Revenge Game: Lauren lost to Mark by only 10.74 points this week, and she's his brother's girlfriend — the family dinner awkwardness is a feature, not a bug. If they rematch, Lauren will come in swinging.

  • ›

📊 League Trend: Four out of six teams are scoring below the league average of 131.29 in at least one week, and Emma has left 79+ bench points twice. This league doesn't have a talent problem — it has a lineup decision problem. Set. Your. Rosters.
