Paul Todd Tops Week 6 While Blake Sets the Floor

WEEK IN REVIEW

Paul Todd led the league with 156.26 points, beating Devon 156.26–142.06 and climbing to 4-2. Josh Allen put up 18.30, D'Andre Swift 23.00, Matthew Golden 22.40, and George Kittle 20.40, and the Perennially-Almost Curse took the week off. The league average was 121.91, so Paul Todd cleared it by 34 points. He also left 59.60 points on the bench, which tells you the roster still has more in the tank than the lineup shows. Don't get comfortable, Paul. Last week's 167.18 got him beaten by James, and the curse has patience.

At the bottom, Blake's 75.88 was the week's low, a 46-point miss of the league average. His own starting TE Evan Engram gave him 4.30, and Cody White gave him 0.00. Chas somehow beat him anyway, 85.90–75.88, in what may be the least impressive victory in league history. Chas sat 36% below league average and still got the W, because Chas Effect rules are unknowable and unstoppable. DJ Moore is listed OUT (shoulder - ac joint) and scored 0.00 in Chas's lineup, which tells you how far down the roster fell. Chas still held the second-best points total in the league (937.58) and a 4-2 record. The universe keeps funding this man.

The Caucasians (Brian) escaped James 124.90–121.68, a 3.22-point nail-biter between the two lowest-scoring performances either team has had this season. Brian is the lone 5-1 team and the only one in the top four with a pulse of consistency. Meanwhile Jenkins lost to Tolby 127.40–117.76 and has now dropped two straight, which turns last week's "wounded and dangerous" prediction into plain "wounded." Tolby did it with Malik Nabers (28.50) and Jayden Daniels (21.00) while leaving 89.64 on his bench, a number so large it could have started a second team. Cameron fell to 0-6 after a 55.34-point loss to Ryan, and Week 7 brings a standings picture tight enough that one bad lineup can cost a team a playoff spot.

MATCHUP RECAPS

Tolby (big nasty) def. Jenkins (Chasing Championships), 127.40–117.76

Tolby scored 127.40 against a league average of 121.91, a modest bump that was enough for the week's biggest upset. Malik Nabers carried the load with 28.50 and Jayden Daniels added 21.00, while Cade Otton laid an egg with 1.90. Jenkins got 27.90 from Kenneth Walker and 27.34 from Trevor Lawrence, but Cam Skattebo gave him 0.00, Denzel Boston 2.50, and Darius Cooper 1.90, and 84.50 points sat on his bench. The loss makes it two in a row for Jenkins, who falls to 4-2. Tolby moves to 3-3 and the Championship Curse can take a breather, for now.

Chas (Veteran Minimum) def. Blake (Bad Brakes), 85.90–75.88

This was the ugliest game of the week and possibly of the season. Chas scored 85.90, 36% below the league average, and still won because Blake put up 75.88, which is 43% below it. Christian McCaffrey saved Chas with 30.70, while DJ Moore (listed OUT with a shoulder issue) and Juwan Johnson both scored 0.00. Blake got 22.98 from C.J. Stroud and then not much of anything else, with Cody White's 0.00 summing up the night. Chas moves to 4-2 and remains the league's most baffling winner, while Blake falls to 1-5 and is running out of excuses.

Brian (The Caucasians) def. James (Schrack Daddy), 124.90–121.68

A 3.22-point margin makes this the closest game of the week, and neither team scored above the league average by more than a few points. Brian got 26.70 from Tre Tucker and 19.10 from Chuba Hubbard, plus a steady 16.88 from Matthew Stafford. James got 24.30 from James Cook and 17.80 from Emeka Egbuka, but Bo Nix delivered 4.48 at QB and Bijan Robinson only managed 7.30. Brian jumps to 5-1 and holds the league's best record. James drops to 3-3 with a one-game losing streak, and his 938.76 total points make him the unluckiest high scorer in the league.

Ryan (tRyan to Contend) def. Cameron (Back in the Goodell Days), 134.68–79.34

Ryan won by 55.34, the week's biggest blowout, after scoring 134.68 against a 121.91 league average. Drake Maye gave him 23.80, Bhayshul Tuten 24.70, and Germie Bernard 25.70, and Ryan left just 20.70 on the bench, the leanest in the league. Cameron lost his sixth straight at 0-6 while Tyler Warren (listed OUT with a groin injury) scored 0.00 and Brian Thomas also posted a goose egg. Cameron's 79.34 was 35% below league average, and the rebuild remains a cautionary tale. Ryan moves to 3-3 and keeps the tank-as-contender thesis alive.

Paul Todd (Big Bauls on the Table) def. Devon (So Girthy), 156.26–142.06

Paul Todd's 156.26 was the week's high score, and it came from balance. D'Andre Swift gave him 23.00, Matthew Golden 22.40, and George Kittle 20.40, while Josh Allen added 18.30. Devon scored 142.06 on a good day, powered by Jaxon Smith-Njigba (25.40) and Michael Penix (23.10), but he left 104.06 points on his bench, the largest amount in the league. That includes Tyler Shough's 26.96 as a QB2 sitting there while MarShawn Lloyd gave him 1.00 in a starting slot. Paul Todd moves to 4-2, Devon slides to 3-3, and the Girthmaster has a bench problem to solve.

Justin (Bitch Pigeons) def. Andy (SLËËP3RÇĒLL), 152.26–144.76

Justin took this one by 7.50 and now has two straight wins after his 152.26 cleared the league average by 30 points. Isaiah Likely gave him 26.90 at tight end and Jonathan Taylor added 21.10, and Dameon Pierce, the $8 waiver claim he won over Devon's $6 bid, delivered 15.00. Andy scored 144.76 with Colston Loveland (21.50) leading the way, but he left 56.20 points on his bench for the second straight week of bench-management trouble. Justin moves to 3-3 and Andy slips to 3-3 with a two-game losing streak. The middle class got a little messier.

POWER RANKINGS

  1. The Caucasians (Brian, 5-1): Only 5-1 team, won a 3.22-point thriller, and the deepest roster in the league still hasn't peaked.
  2. Veteran Minimum (Chas, 4-2): Won with 85.90 points. The Chas Effect is undefeated against logic and 937.58 points say it's just getting started.
  3. Big Bauls on the Table (Paul Todd, 4-2): League-high 156.26 and a 59.60-point bench suggest the ceiling is still higher than the results.
  4. Chasing Championships (Jenkins, 4-2): Two straight losses with 84.50 bench points wasted, but a 896.14 point total keeps him in the hunt.
  5. Schrack Daddy (James, 3-3): Third-most total points (938.76) in the league, yet the record says .500. Variance is a cruel mistress.
  6. So Girthy (Devon, 3-3): 104.06 bench points is a league-worst number, and the lineup floor keeps costing him games.
  7. Bitch Pigeons (Justin, 3-3): Two straight wins and a TE strategy that works, though 34.04 bench points still leave questions.
  8. tRyan to Contend (Ryan, 3-3): Won by 55.34 and left only 20.70 on the bench, the tightest roster in the league.
  9. SLËËP3RÇĒLL (Andy, 3-3): Lost despite 144.76 points and left 56.20 on the bench. The bench crisis remains structural.
  10. big nasty (Tolby, 3-3): The upset win was nice, but 89.64 bench points is the sort of waste that fuels a Championship Curse.
  11. Bad Brakes (Blake, 1-5): League-low 75.88 this week and a 96.23 average through six weeks. The pink shirt looms.
  12. Back in the Goodell Days (Cameron, 0-6): Six straight losses and a 79.34 score with a listed-OUT starter at TE. The rebuild needs a miracle.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • ›Marquee Matchup: Brian (5-1) is the lone team above the pack, and every contender will circle his date on the calendar. Brian's 940.24 points are the most in the league, so he's no fluke.
  • ›Streak Watch: Brian rides a three-game win streak into Week 7, and Chas has won two straight despite scoring 85.90. One of those streaks is sustainable. We'll let you guess which.
  • ›Must-Win: Jenkins is on a two-game skid at 4-2 and can't afford a third loss with five teams crowding the 3-3 range. His 117.76 was his third-lowest score of the season.
  • ›Revenge Game: Paul Todd lost to James back in Week 5 despite a 167.18 season-high, and a rematch in the standings looms. James is 3-3 and desperate for a signature win.
  • ›League Trend: Six teams sit at 3-3, separated by only 69.96 total points between the top and bottom of that group. Bench management will decide the playoff picture, and Devon's 104.06 and Tolby's 89.64 are the warning flares.
